Music on the TV – A few Highlights from the week of 4/27

If you like music. If you like live music. And if you like watching live music on the TV then the last few weeks have been good ones for you. Here’s a few  highlights, from the week of  4/27/15, starting with, perhaps my favorite TV performance…

Manic Street Preachers made their US network debut (finally) with this terrific performance of, “A Design for Life,” on The Late Late Show with James Corden:

Next up, Blur played on The Tonight Show with Jammy Fallon, including this acoustic, backstage performance of, “Tender.”

Future Islands played The Late Show with David Letterman, offering heartfelt shout out to Baltimore and their latest single, “The Chase.” Clearly Dave loves these guys, well, can you blame him?

Another favorite from Letterman was this performance of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” by Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Mark O’Connor, Amos Leea and Steve Martin on the banjo. Of course, anything with Emmylou will be a favorite of mine!

Modest Mouse, always captivating on-stage, played the outdoor stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing, among others from their latest album,  “The Ground Walks, With Time in a Box”
